USA Runners Win Men's and Women's Races at the World Mountain Running ChampionshipsBy Adam Kopet Grayson Murphy and Joseph Gray won the World Mountain Running Championships Friday in Argentina. Murphy won the 14.7K race by 21 seconds in 1:15:20. She led the U.S. team to fifth in the team race, scoring 39 points. The top three athletes from each country count toward scoring. A fourth athlete can displace. France scored 15 points to win the team race.
Gray won the men's race by eight seconds in 1:05:13. He led the U.S. to a silver medal in the team race, scoring 34 points, one point ahead of Italy. The Czech Republic won the men's team race with 17 points.
